At Fizjo-Fan we tailor the massage to your type of activity, training intensity and what your body currently needs – someone after a heavy leg day needs a different kind of work from an athlete preparing for competition.
How does a sports massage work?
Sports massage lets us focus the work on the areas that take the most load in training. Depending on the goal, we concentrate on areas such as:
- the lower limbs – thighs, calves, glutes,
- the back and lower back,
- the shoulder girdle,
- the hips.
Techniques and intensity are chosen individually, based on a short conversation about your training plan and how you are feeling right now.
Sports massage before and after training
Before activity, massage is part of preparing for exertion – it stimulates selected muscle groups and improves their elasticity.
After training or competition, it supports recovery, helps reduce the feeling of tension and “heaviness” in the muscles, and speeds up your return to full training readiness.
If you train regularly, massage becomes part of a comprehensive approach to managing load and recovery – together with compression therapy, electrostimulation and stretching as part of our recovery packages.
Sports massage and injuries
Sports massage supports active people, but it does not replace assessment and physiotherapy in the case of an injury. If you have pain, swelling, restricted movement or a sudden loss of function, it is worth consulting a physiotherapist first.
At Fizjo-Fan we can combine massage with sports physiotherapy, medical training and strength and conditioning – all in one place, in the ZONE Fitness building at Al. Jerozolimskie 200.
